Jim's Robot - Inverting Relay Controller Board

Version 1 - 9/1/2006

The iverting relay controller opens a 12v relay when high and closes the relay when data is low.

The board uses a standard NPN transistor (2n2222, 2n4001) to drive a IFR510 mosfet. This allows the 12v to be fully isolated from the logic side.

This board was developed as an inverting circuit only because I had the parts to make it that way. It's genesis came when I was using a simple single NPN transistor to pull up the relay. The current draw from the logic was so high that the I2c bus would reset itself every time that I threw a relay.
